The state of the art facility was jointly funded by Bolton Community Leisure Trust and Bolton Council.

Situated on the site of the old multi-storey car park for the original leisure centre, both facilities were demolished to make way for this new development.

The site of the original leisure centre will now be used for a new Health Hub for GP surgeries and localised health services.
