Located on an occupied housing estate Heathside & Lethbridge is a 6 stage regeneration of an existing estate in Lewisham, which will transform the estate into a mixed tenure development of over 1200 high quality private and affordable homes, designed to Code level 4.
Ardmore are Principal Contractors on Phase II of the scheme, comprising new build of a 17 storey building, associated smaller buildings to create 190 new homes for affordable rent, shared ownership and private sale, as well as associated infrastructure and a new entrance road for the estate.
One of the regeneration project’s key objectives is a high degree of resident involvement in both design and logistics as well as ensuring that residents fully benefit from the availability of any employment and skills opportunities, and Ardmore are on track to meet Lewisham’s target of 50% local labour utilised on the project.
As principal contractors on Phase II, Ardmore have engaged with residents, and have a full-time Resident Liaison Officer (RLO) on site. From a dedicated on-site office, the RLO offers consultation clinics for residents to discuss the scheme. Ardmore also plays an active part in resident steering groups, discussing logistics and employment and skills opportunities.
We work with employment advice organisations to provide ‘beneficial starts’ to ensure support to new starters, who are guided through the process of initial skills development; from basic literacy & numeracy through to ensuring they have the right PPE and guiding them through the process of applying for CSCS cards.
