ARCHITECT WANTED FOR BRADFORD MUSEUM

BRADFORDS MEDIA MUSEAM IS CURRENTLY SEEKING AN ARCHITECT TO DEVELOP IDEAS FOR ITS NEW INTERACTIVE GALLERY.

The contract notice states: ‘This commission is intended to appoint a design practice that is able to provide architectural/gallery design services, but also help procure, manage and lead a team of specialist designers under the guidance of the external project manager.’

and it continues with ‘The lead designer will be expected to coordinate their own design, along with the design input of their team of specialist designers, with the 30 interactive exhibits designed and procured separately by the client team.’

This project becomes available after a collective investment of £2 Million was made by the Science Museum Group and Bradford council, this  project is a result of falling figures for the museum which attracted over a million visitors in 2001 to only 500,000 currently.

The museum first opened its doors in 1983 and now contains 7 exhibitons, 3.5 Millions items from within the gaming industry, TV, film etc.
