ARCHITECT WANTED FOR £70 MILLION MILFORD DOCK REGENRATION PROJECT03 September 2015
MILFORD HAVEN PORT AUTHORITY IN PEMBROKESHIRE IS SEEKING AN ARCHITECT FOR ITS £70 MILLION MILFORD DOCK REGENERATION PROJECT
The winning team will draw up an ‘economically realistic and deliverable’ design brief for the 44,600m² mixed-use masterplan which won outline planning permission earlier this year.
The phased project will upgrade the coastal town’s historic fish docks and marina while also delivering new retail, leisure, entertainment and residential developments.
According to the contract notice, the winning team will draw up a ‘comprehensive design brief which will deliver continuity across all elements of the Milford Haven Dock development and which will provide clear direction to all future developers of land, buildings and public realm areas.’
The brief must also create a ‘unique identity that will support the promotion of the dock as a future destination in the UK’ and take account of local heritage.
Originally built as a harbour for transatlantic trade, the dock became one of the UK’s busiest fishing ports during the twentieth century and it still serves trawlers to this day.
The deadline for requests to participate is 12noon on 11 September.
