ARCHITECT WANTED FOR £2.25M GLASGOW RESTORATION PROJECT

AN ARCHITECT IS BEING SOUGHT FOR A GRADE A LISTED PROJECT IN GORBALS STREET, GLASGOW. THE PROJECT IS LED BY THE SOUTHSIDE HOUSING ASSOCIATION AND WILL CREATE SIX MID-MARKET APARTMENTS IN ADDITION TO A GROUND FLOOR COMMUNITY SPACE, INSIDE THE 1900 ART NOUVEAU STRUCTURE.

 

Located next to the Citizens Theatre and new housing by Page\Park Architects and Elder & Cannon Architects – the landmark building is thought to be the last surviving tenement in the area.

According to the contract notice: ‘The building is a landmark of the old Gorbals and the current area; it is highly emotive of both the history and community of this famous part of Glasgow.’

RIBA stage 2 to 6 will be developed by the winning architect, firms with previous experience in delivering grant aided heritage restoration projects are encouraged to apply

DEADLINE for entry is 16th February for document requests and they are to be returned by 12noon on March 7th
